Koh Lipe, a stunning gem in Thailand’s Andaman Sea, is the ideal destination for a quick escape. With its white sandy beaches, vibrant marine life, and laid-back vibe, you can experience the best of this island in just 48 hours. Here’s how to make the most of your time on Koh Lipe, including adventure, relaxation, and delicious food!
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Koh Lipe is between November and April when the weather is dry and sunny, perfect for beach activities and outdoor adventures. The sea is calm, and the visibility for snorkeling and diving is at its peak.
Getting There
You can reach Koh Lipe by ferry from Langkawi, Malaysia, or from the mainland of Thailand (Pak Bara). The ferry ride from Langkawi takes about 1.5 hours, while the journey from Pak Bara lasts approximately 1-2 hours depending on the speedboat service. Both options offer stunning views of the turquoise waters, setting the stage for your tropical adventure.
I booked all of my transport around Asia, through 12Go Asia as, it is easy to navigate and gives you detailed departure and destination information at a decent price. Look below to find the transport for your trip.

Don’t forget your camera!

Evening: Sunset at Sunset Beach
Return to Koh Lipe in the late afternoon and make your way to Sunset Beach, a quieter stretch of sand perfect for watching the sun dip below the horizon. Bring a beach mat, some snacks, and enjoy the vibrant colors of the sunset while sipping a cold drink. Alternatively there are a couple of vendors selling a range of cocktails for you to enjoy.

Morning: Kayaking to Kla Island
On your second day, start with a hearty breakfast at your accommodation or a local café. Then, rent a kayak from one of the shops along the beach. Paddle out to Kla Island, known for its gorgeous, empty beaches and crystal-clear waters. The kayak ride is scenic, and you might spot some marine life along the way. Home to three beaches on the island choose one to enjoy some time at. My favourite was the beach to the left of the island with a white sandy beach and lots of fish swimming in the waters.

Afternoon: North Point Beach
Once you have returned from Kla Island, walk around to North Point Beach and spend some time relaxing on the beach. This spot is perfect for a swim or a picnic.
