Day Trips from Fremantle
Make the most of your time in Fremantle by embarking on unforgettable day trips to Rottenest Island and Caversham Wildlife Park:
Rottenest Island:
Visit Rottenest Island and cycle around the island, laze on their pristine beaches and snap a selfie with the adorable quokkas. Get the Sealink ferry from the Fremantle harbour just behind the train station and be on Rottenest in less than 45 minutes. Please be advised prebooking is advised and due to adverse weather conditions the ferries can unfortunately be cancelled like ours was.
Caversham Wildlife Park:
Located about an hour and half from Fremantle on Public transport, Caversham Wildlife park offers you the opportunity to get up close and personal with koalas, kangaroos and other native Australian wildlife. We visited on the day that our ferry to Rottenest was cancelled and honestly it was absolutely amazing. Located in Whiteman Park which itself offers a woodland reserve, large playground, splash park and multiple museums is a great option for how to spend a day. Make sure to arrive early to see the animals with less crowding and if you are interested in holding a koala which is a bucket list experience you need to buy your tickets from the souvenir shop but be warned they are limited and can’t be prebooked.

Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover or a food enthusiast Fremantle has something for everyone. So pack your bags, hit the road and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in this charming coastal city.
